The problem

When a fryer or dishwasher breaks in the middle of service, the manager has to find someone who fixes that kind of machine, fast. Afterwards there is rarely a proper record of what was wrong, what was done or what it cost.

How it works

The manager picks the machine by the name the kitchen uses for it, like “back fryer”, and chooses what they can see from a short list, such as “not making ice”. They are not asked to guess the cause.

They reach a nearby repairer who services that type of machine. Each visit records what the repairer found, what they did and the cost, and the app reminds the manager when preventive maintenance falls due.

Why we build our own product

It puts us on the client’s side of the table: deciding what to build first, what to leave out, and how to keep it simple for someone under pressure. The data model and its tests are built; the app is not yet public.
