The brief
OzClean wanted customers to choose a cleaning service, pick a time that is actually free, and pay online, without any back and forth to arrange it.
What we built
A website with a page for each service and a booking form. When a customer picks a date, times that are already booked disappear straight away. They pay through Square, and once the payment goes through the customer gets a confirmation email and OzClean gets a notification with the details.
The careful parts
The time slot is checked twice: once when the date is picked, and again on the server just before payment, so two customers cannot book the same slot.
Prices are worked out on the server, so nobody can change them in the browser. A booking is only confirmed when Square’s signed message says the payment went through, and emails are sent from one place after that, so nobody gets a confirmation for a booking that failed.
